Estate Upgrading Program

"If you would notice, at the end of the street of Jalan Lanjut. There is a very challenging slope going upwards towards ang mo kio ave 2.
And this is really a big hinder especially to those who are wheel-chair bound to be out.

What a waste, look at our area. There are Parks, Food Centre, and Mini-Mart etc, etc that we can bring them out to enjoy. And this definitely benefits them emotionally and mentally. What more about our GOV that are improving so many things for their life-style. I am sure you can see for yourself those sign everywhere when you are out. Eg. Theater, mrt, buses, drama ctr, shopping malls, flats etc, etc.

I am no architect or a builder but i can only propose something to be done. Maybe a handicapped lift in the Shangri-la park.."

I am looking forward to the presentation this weekend. I will be looking out for a design idea that reflects the history, spirit and character of Sembawang Hills Estate. There will be issues of car-parking, high slopes etc but that can be technically resolved in the architects' design.

My question - how would a visitor or resident know if we arrived at KB Villas? Hopefully it is not more "History Boards" (that no one reads) or changes in lamp post and signages on the roads. Hope the architect would delve deeper into these issues and still sort out the car park issues :)

As a resident, I would like to express my appreciation to MP Inderjit Singh, the KBV Committee led by Siak Koon, Robin Chua BBM, Francis Leong, Dr Lim BBM and many others who have committed time and effort to share the upgrading plans with residents.

There were many views offered and I am glad that Mr Singh and the KBV Committee were open to review what was presented. This upgrading is a pleasant bonus to residents in the estate and will be appreciated. Thank you ALL.

I have seen signages installed at various estates but I think to have 2 huge signages side by side and another similarly sized set less than 200m begs for explanation. I am referring to the Thomson Hill estate signages located at the junctions of sembawang hills drive and amk ave 2 as well as sembawang hills drive and thomson hill. I also know that another set is located at yio chu kang road and thomson hill drive.
I recall that some time back a smaller brick walled signage was erected but demolished and replaced by this huge one.
Personally I feel it is a waste of resources to have 2 signages and I am reminded of this daily. On what basis were these signages proposed and approved? I have seen simpler and equally effective signages in other areas. Why waste resources that can be put to better use like making the road junctions safer to users or having better facilities in our neighbourhood parks? Ms Lee
