Kebun Baru Villas Estate Upgrading Programme cum Residents' Dialogue

KEBUN BARU VILLAS ESTATE UPGRADING PROGRAMME RESIDENTS' DIALOGUE was held on Sunday, 30th January 2011 at Shangri-la Playground ( located at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 2/Jalan Lanjut/Jalan Mengkudu). Guest of Honour, Mr. Inderjit Singh, MP for Ang Mo Kio GRC who also chairs the Estate Upgrading Programme Working Committee arrived at 5.30p.m. as scheduled. The turnout of residents has been very encouraging despite the bad weather. It has been raining the whole day since the day before.
The programme started with an address by Mr. Inderjit Singh. Architect for the project, Mr. Eric Tay from Design Metabolists then conducted a presentation of the project highlighting some of the features such as estate markers, rain shelters, footpath, lamposts, road signs, upgrading of Shangri-la Playground (connecting St. Nicholas View playground), upgrading of Ellington Square Playground, removing unhealthy trees and palm trees replacing them with trees recommended by the Architect. Exhibits of the project were put up for residents to view in order to have a better understanding.
A Question & Answer session with the panelist comprising key members of the EUPC chaired by Mr. Inderjit Singh fielded questions from the residents. A wide range of interesting questions and inputs were put forward by the residents. The panel responded positively and would address residents' concern.
The session ended at about 6.45p.m. followed by refreshments for all participants.
On behalf of EUPC, we would like to express our deep appreciation to the organizers of the forum for the set-up of the tentage, exhibits, etc. and most importantly the residents who had despite of the wet weather, turned out for the event

This is a suggestion to better use the 2 parks proposed.

1) Can we like in HBD/ Pte estates add 1-2 BBQ pits in the park? The Mgt and bookings of the pit can be done either on-line or at KBCC.

2) Can we add 1-2 drinking fountains in the park?
